ARTEMIS CENTER & YWCA DAYTON HOSTING COLLABORATIVE 5K
Race info:
Artemis Center and YWCA Dayton will, for the third year, host a collaborative friend and fundraiser to promote awareness of domestic violence and raise funds to support domestic violence victims. Shine Your Light 5K will be held Saturday, Oct. 12, 2019, in conjunction with the University of Dayton School of Law Human Rights Awareness and Advocacy Committee and the University of Dayton Women’s Center.
Shine Your Light 5K is an event that highlights domestic violence as a critical community issue and educates the community on the work of Artemis Center and YWCA Dayton. Activities include a community vigil to honor those lost to domestic violence and celebrate survivors, followed by an evening 5K run/walk/stroll (participants are encourage to wear purple and bring accessories that glow or light up). Various activity vendors and informational tables will also be on hand, and we'll have multiple raffle baskets to bid on!
All proceeds will support Artemis Center and YWCA Dayton's programs and services that support domestic violence victims. Click here if you'd like to donate to our event.
The 5K, chip timed by Key Sports, will start and finish at RiverScape MetroPark in downtown Dayton, with an easy out-and-back course perfect for experienced runners, hobby joggers, students, walkers and families alike. No animals allowed; strollers are welcome.
Registration and Packet Pickup:
Registration opens at 6 p.m., with the race beginning at 7 p.m., rain or shine.
Prices
Students (must present a student ID): $20 (through Oct. 11 at 12pm, then increases to $40 on race day)
General public - $30 through Sept. 1, $35 Sept. 2-Oct. 11 at 12pm, $40 on race day.
You must register by Oct. 1, to receive a shirt! No pets. The race course is handicap accessible.
Parking:
You can park at meters (free on the weekends) or at lots downtown. You are responsible for confirming if parking is permitted at your chosen location.
Post race:
Our food truck this year will be EAT (Everything Always Tasty) from 6:30-9pm.
Results:
Results are updated as your finish and can be accessed on the Key Sports website or via the ITS YOUR RACE app.
